Understanding
Kidney Disease
Healthy kidneys remove extra water and wastes, help
control blood pressure, keep body chemicals in balance,
keep bones strong, tell your body to make red blood
cells and help children grow normally. There are a number
of different renal (kidney) problems that may occur.
Bright’s disease is a kidney disease marked by
the presence of blood protein in the urine, along with
hypertension and edema (retention of water in the tissues).
Glomerulonephritis is an inflammation of tiny blood
vessel within the kidney that filter out wastes from
the blood. Pyelonephritis is a kidney infection that
may be caused by a birth defect. Hydronephrosis is a
condition in which the kidney and the renal pelvis become
filled with urine due to an obstruction of urinary flow.
Nephrotic syndrome is not a disease in itself, but can
be a sign in the urine. It can be caused by lesions
of glomeruli (small structures in the kidney made of
capillaries) that become inflamed, or by chronic diseases
such as diabetes or lupus. Polycystic kidney disease
(PKD) is an inherited disease in which cysts grow on
the kidneys, rendering them incapable of functioning.
Kidney Stone are mineral accumulations (primarily calcium)
in the kidneys. In renal tubular acidosis, the kidneys
fail to reabsorb bicarbonate normally, causing impaired
ammonia production and acid excretion.
One important symptom of kidney problems is edema. Edema
results when the kidneys produce less urine because
they are unable to properly excrete salt and other wastes,
and fluid builds up in the body. Ankles and hands may
swell, and the person becomes short of breath. Toxic
wastes may accumulate in the bloodstream due to kidney
malfunction, a condition known as uremia. Symptoms of
kidney problem include abdominal pain, appetite loss,
back pain, chills, fever, fluid retention (bloating),
nausea, urinary urgency, and vomiting. The urine may
be cloudy or bloody. Back pain may be sudden and intense,
occurring just above the waist and running down the
groin.
What is Kidneril
KIDNERIL is a natural product based on a traditional
Chinese herbal formula that is designed to correct “yin”
(bodily fluids) imbalance of kidney-adrenal system and
increase “chi” (energy) and blood. Kidneril
helps with chronic kidney disease and support healthy
kidney function. Kidneril helps kidney remove extra
salt and other waste products, prevent extra fluid build
up in the body, maintain body chemicals and water in
balance. Kidneril helps with pain in the flanks, fatigue,
nausea, swollen face, hands or feet, improve blurred
vision, dizziness and reduce foamy, cloudy or bloody
urine, as well as much improve renal function testing
results. Kidneril also helps with high blood pressure
caused by kidney failure. For some patients, KIDNERIL
may be an alternative natural solution for “dialysis”,
which is a common method used in hospitals to help the
patients with chronic kidney disease or end stage renal
disease to remove the toxic waste products and excess
fluid from the body.
Health
Benefits
1. Improving kidney circulation: Kidneril improves blood
flow and circulation in the kidney; increases renal
glomeruli (small structures in the kidney made of capillaries)
filtration and tubular re-absorption; promotes excretion
of potassium, sodium and water in balance, thus helping
keep body chemicals and water in balance.
2. Removing excess fluid: When chronic kidney failure
(especially uremia) occurs, renal glomeruli filtration
rate goes down and the urine volume decreases and even
no urine. Kidneril promotes excretion of water through
reducing blood viscosity, lightening the silt in the
renal vascular bed and improving renal micro-circulation.
Kidneril can still play a diuretic role and increase
the urine volume when there is a filtrating dysfunction
in renal glomerulis. Kidneril also helps the body remove
extra water and wastes products through intestines pathway.
3. Cleansing renal toxins: Kidneril can absorb and remove
many toxins from the intestines, including uremia toxins,
thus helping decrease creatinine and ureanitrogen in
the blood.
4. Improving amino acids metabolism: Metabolism dysfunction
of protein and amino acid is one of the main causes
of many symptoms of chronic kidney disease. Most uremia
toxins are the metabolite of protein and amino acids.
Kidneril can inhibit catabolism of protein and decrease
the non-necessary amino acids level, thus reducing urea
production.
Ingredients
& Mechanism
Ingredients: extracts of (poria cococs, goldenrod leaf,
birch leaf & bark, dandelion leaf & root, ligustrum
fruit, eucommia bark, lycii fruit, panax white ginseng,
astragalus root)
Poria Extract: Poria is a healing mushroom and a very
good source of potassium. It is also an effective diuretic
and has antibacterial properties. It is used in both
Native American medicine and traditional Chinese medicine
(TCM) to treat kidney ailments. Poria has also been
used in TCM for lowering blood sugar and controlling
stomach acids. Poria extract has significant benefits
for Kidney disease. Poria relieves the chronic kidney
inflammation of glomerulonephritis. This is an autoimmune
condition that results when the body produces antibodies
that attack its own tissues. Sometimes, these antibodies
accumulate in the kidney, which becomes clogged and
loses its ability to retain essential products. Proteins
begin to leak out into the urine, a process that can
quickly progress to kidney failure. One of hoelen's
main constituents, pachyman, can halt this process by
preventing the accumulation of antibodies. If a person
with this problem uses hoelen as a nutritional supplement
for several weeks, he or she no longer needs to use
steroid medications to counteract kidney inflammation,
which is beneficial because steroids can have undesirable
side effects such as fatigue, puffiness, weight gain,
and behavioral changes. Poria extract is also beneficial
for lupus. While pachyman keeps errant immune cells
from accumulating in the kidney, another complex carbohydrate
in poria, called poriatrin, acts to prevent the formation
of antibodies in the first place. Poriatrin also stops
the production of cytokines, chemical messengers that
immune cells use to coordinate attacks on tissues. In
addition, poriatrin stops the activity of related chemical
messengers, such as the interleukins and tumor necrosis
factor.
Goldenrod Extract: Golden Rod is an ingredient in the
Swiss Vulnerary, faltrank. Goldenrod has traditionally
been used as an astringent, diuretic and antibacterial
and efficacious for stone and infection in the bladder
and kidney. It also helps restore kidney function and
can be used for chronic kidney dysfunction and weakness.
Goldenrod extract stimulates the kidneys to eliminate
fluid and supports the kidneys and urinary tract with
the key saponins and tannins.
Birch Extract: Birch Leaf and bark extract contains
flavonoids, quercetin glycosides, lipophilic flavone,
saponins and terpenoids that are contributed to birch
extract’s anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-viral
properties and diuretic effect. Birch extract also helps
with blood purification, cellular regeneration, detoxification
and pain relief. Birch extract is used to increase urinary
output (more urine), for urinary tract infections, digestive
tract, edema and kidney stones and inflammation. It
promotes slight sweating and is mildly diuretic. It
is used for bladder infection or other inflammations
of the urinary tract. It is also used as a spring tonic.
Dandelion Extract: Dandelion
leaf is used as a diuretic and to lower high blood pressure
by reducing the volume of fluid in the body. Researches
have confirmed that dandelion leaves are a powerful
diuretic. Unlike many conventional diuretics, which
cause loss of potassium, dandelion leaves contain high
levels of potassium, giving a net gain of the mineral.
Dandelion root is one of the most effective detoxifying
herbs. Working principally on the liver and gallbladder
to help remove waste products. Dandelion also stimulates
the kidneys to remove toxins in the urine. A remarkably
well - balanced remedy, the root encourages steady elimination
of toxins due to infection or pollution. Studies have
showed that the root of dandelion has a significant
cleansing action on the liver and stimulates bile production.
It is also mildly bitter and a gentle laxative. Dandelion
extract’s benefit effects are contribute to bitter
glycosides, terpenoids, triterpenes and many other trace
nutrients. The leaves extract contain a high amount
of potassium, which balances their function as a powerful
diuretic. This is in contrast to orthodox diuretics,
which need a potassium supplement to balance the requirements
of the body. In Chinese terms dandelion resolves painful
urinary ailments. The root functions differently, being
used to treat the liver to improve its function, and
as a mild laxative. In Chinese usage, dandelion is indicated
for heat disorders, especially in the liver, where there
are red, swollen, and painful eyes, and for damp-heat
jaundice. Both leaf and root act as a tonic to the gallbladder.
Its detoxifying properties are thought to have a beneficial
effect on removing the effects of pollution on the body.
In addition, the Chinese use it where there are firm
or hard abscesses, especially involving the breast and
digestive system. For these dandelion can be used internally
and topically. In women who are breastfeeding, dandelion
is used to promote lactation. The Chinese properties
are those of bitter, sweet, and cold.
Eucommia Extract: helps
lower blood pressure and protect kidneys, especially
in salt-sensitive individuals. Eucommia leaves have
been used as a folk remedy for the treatment of diabetes
in Korea. The bark and leaves of Eucommia have been
used as tonic for kidney and anti-stress drug in China.
A number of studies have demonstrated that the extracts
of Eucommia possesses anti-hypertensive, anti-complementary,
anti-oxidative, and anti-gastric ulcer effects, and
promoting collagen synthesis, accelerating granuloma
formation, and other pharmacological effects. Eucommia
Extracts may help with high blood pressure through the
following ways: helps maintain healthy potassium levels;
stimulates urination without increasing potassium excretion;
reduces salt-sensivity and protects against kidney damage.
Lycii Extract: Lycium
is a major Chinese tonic herb, first mentioned in the
Divine Husbandman's Classic (Shen'nong Bencaojing),
written in the 1st century AD. Traditionally lycium
is believed to promote long life -a Chinese herbalist
said to have lived for 252 years ascribed his longevity
to tonic herbs, including lycium. Today both the berries
and the root have a wide range of medicinal uses. Lycii
works as Blood tonic - In China, lycium berries are
taken as a blood tonic. They improve the circulation
and absorption of nutrients by the cells and help with
many symptoms, including dizziness, tinnitus, blurred
vision, and wasting conditions. It also works as Liver
& eye tonic - The berries are a liver and kidney
tonic. In Chinese medicine, the liver is associated
with the eyes, and lycium berries are considered excellent
for failing eyesight. Lycii has Cooling properties -
Lycium root is used in China to "cool the blood,"
helping to reduce fever, sweating, irritability, and
thirst. These cooling qualities also help to stop nosebleeds,
reduce vomiting of blood, and soothe coughs and wheezing,
whenever they are due to "patterns of excess heat.
Lycii is also helpful for maintaining healthy Blood
pressure - As a result of recent research, lycium root
is beginning to be used in China to treat people suffering
from high blood pressure. A number of studies have shown
that The lycii berries protect the liver from damage
caused by exposure to toxins. The root of lycii is known
to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which
controls involuntary bodily functions. Lycium also relaxes
the artery muscles, thereby lowering blood pressure.
Chinese research has shown the root to have a notable
ability to reduce fever, and in one clinical trial it
had a significant effect in reducing fever in malaria.
Lycium contains betaine, beta-sitosterol, physalien,
cinnamic acid and many other valuable nutrients. The
lycii berries are thought to have a protective effect
on the liver and kidneys, nourishing and acting as a
tonic. Conditions where this is most effective are those
where there is a sore back and legs, low-grade abdominal
pain, excessive urination at night (nocturia), wasting
and thirsting disorders, consumption, and, in the reproductive
system for men, impotence. Another of its major functions
is as a tonic for the eyes, especially where the circulation
is thought to be poor, in conditions of dizziness, blurred
vision, and diminished sight. In the respiratory system
it is used to tonify the lungs, especially in conditions
with a consumptive cough. In the cardiovascular system
lycium is used as a circulatory tonic, to reduce blood
pressure and to lower lipid levels.
Astragalus Extract:
contains asparagine, calcyosin, formononetin, astragalosides,
umatakenin, sterols. In Oriental medicine one herb stands
out as extremely useful as a remedy for this physical
weakness: astragalus root. Astragalus has been employed
by Chinese herbalists for "every sort of wasting
or exhausting disease." It seems to work best,
however, when used in conjunction with Korean ginseng
root. Traditional Oriental medicine teaches that astragalus
root is a wonderful tonic for the "spleen"
and "lung chis." Chi is considered to be the
vital energy of the body. The "spleen chi"
is referred to as the "middle burner," where
our body's energy builds. When our "life energy"
becomes deficient, astragalus root is believed to increase
or supplement it. More interesting is the fact that
this herb is said to "stabilize the exterior"
of the body, which Oriental herbalists interpret as
protecting the system against disease. This equates
to our own concept of increasing resistance. The root
works best to reinvigorate the immune system before
disease occurs; it does not work as well once sickness
has set in. Recent American researches have focused
on the ability of astragalus to restore normal immune
function in cancer patients. Researches in China indicate
that astragalus plays a major role in the cardiovascular
system as it is diuretic and that it lowers blood pressure
and increases endurance. It will also help in conditions
where there is water retention or edema (swelling of
the tissues due to excess water).
