About Arthritis

Arthritis is a degenerative joint disease that cause swelling and pain that can range from mild to excruciating. Although more than two hundred diseases are classified under the name “arthritis”, most arthritic conditions fall into one of two categories: osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Osteoarthritis is by far the more common, afflicting 40 million Americans and 80 percent of people over fifty. The pain and the inflammation occur when the cartilage that protects the bones from rubbing against each other wear down. Not surprisingly, the usually appears in joints that do most of the body’s hard work: the knees, the hips, the spine, and the hands. Although injury or the normal wear and tear of life often bring on cartilage damage, it can be made much worse by food allergies, poor diet, and mineral deposits in the joints. For some people, the effects of mental and emotional stress aggravate arthritis pain. Changes in the pain and slowing the spread of rheumatoid arthirweather—usually, rain and falling barometric pressure—often cause arthritis flare-ups. Symptoms usually come on gradually, progression as follows: morning stiffness; painful, swollen joints; restricted range of motion; and deformity of joints (in some cases).

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is quite another story. Most experts believe it is caused by an inappropriate immune reaction, in which white blood cells attack the cartilage in the joints; it can go on to destroy the bones themselves and even the muscles and the skin. It is often exceedingly painful and can cripple its sufferers. While osteoarthritis affects men and women equally, RA appears three times more frequently in women. It only 2 to 3 percent of the population and can occur at any age, even in childhood. The course of the disease is difficult to predict. It may disappear a few months after it appearance, or it may grow progressively worse. Experts disagree over the causes of RA, but it seems clear that genes, food allergies, bacterial or viral infection, stress, excess acid in the body, and the presence of certain antibodies in the blood all play a role. Many of the complementary therapies used for osteoarthritis are also effective in reducing the pain and slowing the spread of rheumatoid arthritis. The symptoms usually are including: inflammation, pain, tenderness, and discoloration in the joints, usually the shoulders, the elbows, the wrists, the fingers, the ankles, or the toes; morning stiffness; lumps under the skin at the site of damaged joints; deformity of joints in long-term cases,; fatigue, weight loss, weakness, and occasionally fever; chronic infections.

Underlying factors for both of these conditions may include poor digestive function (intestinal permeability), hormone imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, food allergies, and life style factors.

What is Flexiril?

Flexiril is a natural product specially designed to help the body inhibit enzymes that damage cartilage and tissue and assist the body in repairing cartilage and tissue. Flexiril also helps the body inhibit the effect of a natural enzyme called COX-2 and thus fighting pain and inflammation, but without the stomach distress or other side effects associated with conventional painkillers. Otherwise, Flexiril also has double-directional immune modulating function, namely, it can strengthen the weakened immune function and also can decrease the overactive immune function. Therefore it may protect joints from immune system’s “self attacking”, and thus alleviate inflammation that damages both cartilage and tissues. Flexiril can help the body prevent and counter the bacteria and virus infection that may cause joint inflammation. Otherwise, Flexiril contains herbal sourced vitamin B12 that may improve mood and counter depression and fatigue.

HOW IT WORKS?

Mechanism of Action & Pharmacology
Protect cartilage and tissue all over the body
Modulate and balance the immune functions
Anti-inflammatory effects
Reduce pain, swelling, stiffness, tenderness and discomfort in affected joints and muscles
Combat fatigue and depression
Boswellia resin B.S.S.E.: contains anti-inflammatory compounds, which are commonly referred to as boswellic acids. These acids have been shown to significantly reduce inflammation in several ways. They deter inflammatory white cells from infiltrating damaged tissue. They improve blood flow to the joints. And they also block chemical reactions that set the stage for inflammation to occur in chronic intestinal disorders such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Specifically, boswellia B.S.S.E. may help to: 1) Ease osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. It may lessen morning stiffness and increase joint mobility. 2) Decrease back pain. Its anti-inflammatory properties can help to reduce aching and stiffness, especially when associated with low back pain. 3) Control certain inflammatory bowel diseases. It appears to reduce the inflammation associated with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, both painful intestinal disorders. And it seems to accomplish this without the risk of further gut irritation associated with many conventional pain relievers.
Dong Quai root B.S.S.E.:contains ligustilide, taraxasterols, coumarins etc. as well as abundant vitamin E and herbal sourced vitamin B12. Dong quai root B.S.S.E. may not only help with muscle pain, joint pain and never pain through its analgetic, anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxative properties and improves distal nerves and blood vessels function. Dong Quai root B.S.S.E. helps dilate blood vessels, norish body fluids, stimulating the central nervous system and increasing blood flow throughout the body. As a rich source of vitamin B12, it may play a role in stimulating red blood cell production. It may therefore indirectly boost energy and lessen fatigue by increasing the number of red blood cells transporting oxygen throughout the body.
Astragalus root B.S.S.E.: contains numerous components, including flavonoids, polysaccharides, treterpene glycosides, amino acids and trace minerals. Astragalus B.S.S.E. can benefit immune function in two directions, on the
one hand it can boost immune function for people with weakened immune function, on the other hand, it can decrease overactive immune function in people with some autoimmune disease, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis etc. Otherwise, as a traditional Chinese herb used for over 2,000 years, astragalus is believed to build stamina and vitality. It has a reputation for improving overall health by helping the body to fight off viral and bacterial infections. Also, as an antioxidant, it helps to counteract cell damage caused by unstable oxygen molecules called free radicals.
Olive Leaf B.S.S.E.: contains oleuropein and flavonoids that are associated with its antibacterial properties and cardiovascular health benefits. Oleuropein can be converted into another elenolic acid that has shown antibacterial actions against several species, such as Staphylococcus that is the one of causes of arthritis, thus may be beneficial for preventing and improving arthritic symptoms.
Chicken Collagen II: is derived from the sternum of chickens and can be used for maintains the integrity of vein walls, tendons, ligaments and cartilage. It is the main building block of ariticular cartilage and structural protein found in joints. Type II chicken collagen shares some similar antigenic regions with type II human collagen. Autoimmune response to type II collagen is thought to be a significant factor in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. A few studies suggest that oral type II chicken collagen may be beneficial to some with rheumatoid arthritis, acting by a process known as oral tolerance. The mechanism of the possible anti-rheumatoid arthritis activity of chicken collagen type II may be through oral tolerance. Oral tolerance refers to the observation that if a protein is orally administered, subsequent immunization with the protein leads to a state of systemic hyporesponsiveness to it. Autoantibodies to type II collagen are thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. Therefore, feeding antigenic type II collagen may be predicted to lead to the induction of immune tolerance to type II collagen, especially in the context of elevated autoantibodies to this substance

Silicon (Barley Grains extract): Silicon deficiency may cause abnormalities including poorly formed joints, defective endochondral growth and defective articular cartilage. Silicon may be involved in collagen and glycosaminoglycan formation and thus helping protect and repair joint cartilage and tissue.
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM): is believe that it is a necessary building block for proteins, especially those found in hair, muscles, and connective tissue of joints and skin. MSM appears to inhibit pain impulses that travel along nerve fibers, acting as an analgesic. This property, along with the compound's potential anti-inflammatory actions, are often cited in explaining its use for combating the symptoms of arthritis, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome and allergies. In addition, MSM may reduce muscle spasms, increase blood flow and possibly contribute to the maintenance and repair of cartilage. Specifically, MSM may help to relieve arthritis symptoms. It not only helps treat osteoarthritis--the degenerative form of arthritis that wears down cartilage over time--but rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and other autoimmune-related conditions as well. It may exert an anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect similar to that of aspirin. Otherwise, MSM may be useful for treating chronic back pain resulting from muscle strain, ligament sprain, or the early degenerative changes that can affect joints and discs in the back.
